Barking Owl Climber Campground

Awesome private campground about 17 minutes from the Joshua Tree National Park. Richard, the host, is a rock climber who provides guided climbing trips and lessons. Camp 3 (Dog Camp) is a great spot if you are traveling with your pup.

Hidden Valley Campground

The Hidden Valley Campground has 44 dry camping sites, pit toilets and no water. The campground is located along park boulevard and is surrounded by large boulders and Joshua Trees. All sites at Hidden Valley Campground are first-come, first-served. The Hidden Valley offers many climbing routes.

Jumbo Rocks Campground

Jumbo Rocks Campground lies amid the huge, steep rock formations for which Joshua Tree National Park is known. Close proximity to many boulders and rock formations, it is a popular camping location for families with kids. Jumbo Rocks is one of four campgrounds in the park that requires reservations year-round. Travelers who enjoy warm, dry winters flock to Joshua Tree from October through May, when temperatures hover between 70-90 degrees during the day and drop to a 40-60 degree range at night.

Black Rock Campground

One of the few campgrounds in Joshua Tree with decent Cell Service. If you can not live without cell service, this campground is for you. Blackrock campground is located in the northwest corner of the Joshua Tree National park and offers 99 camping spots. Each campsite has a picnic table and fire ring with rest rooms and water nearby. Shopping facilities are only five miles away in the town of Yucca Valley. Black Rock Campground lies among one of the thickest Joshua tree forests in Joshua Tree National Park.

Van Life Campground
